Do you have a Client Business Page for your Google listing for your business? If you don’t have this type of additional information shown below when people are Googling your business, you are missing out in helping people find your business, what you do, what people think of you, and more. We actually pay places like Alignable to list our businesses in certain categories, yet many of us don’t know about the value of being listed properly in the biggest search engine in the world.
And what about the Reviews? Alignable particularly, but also other social networks, have interesting and often difficult recommendations and review sections that sometimes seem to duplicate themselves. I have been blessed with several positive and even heartwarming reviews and recommendations on various Social Media platforms for seminars, training, presentations, etc over the years. To anyone inclined whatsoever who have experienced the Social Media is Not Simple brand of training, coaching, mentoring and encouraging that you have found useful, please consider googling Social Media is Not Simple and leaving a Google review. It may be the very best support you could ever provide. If appropriate, please let me know if you’d like a recommendation/review. I will be all over it.
How to get started listing your Business with Google (all of this information provided by Debbie Battler of http://www.deconsulting.ca She is a long term and very trusted friend and associate who has written a book on SEO for Beginners (SEO is Search Engine Optimization which, simply put, means ensuring you can be found on the major search engines on the Internet quickly and easily.) You can follow these instructions/suggestions or have Debbie set it up properly for you. And you can start suggesting to clients that, if appropriate, they provide a review on Google first.
1. Start with a Google My Business Account
Google Plus for consumers was shut down on April 2nd 2019 due to lack of use. If you used it as a link on your website it will no longer work. If you are a business you should create a Google My Business Account. Your Business Profile will appear on the right when people search for your business or businesses like yours on Google Search and Maps. Google My Business makes it easy to create and update your Business Profile—so you can stand out, and bring customers in.
2. The Benefits of Google Reviews – Who knew
Now more than ever it’s important for businesses to get Google reviews on your Google My Business Account. One of the biggest benefits that online reviews bring to your business is a boost in local search ranking. Obtaining Google reviews is an easy and free way to get ahead of your competitors by building customer trust and increasing search engine visibility.
Continually getting new reviews can help boost your reputation and increase your ROI. To get the most out of Google reviews, you only need to follow a few simple steps. When you get a review it shows up next to your listing in Maps and Search, and can help your business stand out on Google. A Good Google review can help someone consider a purchase.
To get reviews on Google, ask your customers to spread the word about your business by following these best practices:
- Remind your customers to leave reviews. It’s quick and easy to leave business reviews on mobile devices or desktop computers.
- Reply to reviews to build your customers’ trust. Your customers will notice that your business values their input, and possibly leave more reviews in the future.
- Reviews are only valuable when they are honest and unbiased. (For example you shouldn’t offer incentives to customers in exchange for reviews.)
- Create and verify your Google My Business account so your information is eligible to appear on Maps, Search, and other Google services.
Only verified businesses can respond to reviews. Make sure the business info is filled out correctly for better visibility.
- It must match exactly to any other directory registration online such as YP.ca, yelp and more. Company Name, Address and Phone.
3. A Bing Places Account – for Apple search users
Also Add your business to Bing Places and make sure customers always find the right information about your business similar to a Google My Business Account. Bing searches are second to Google Searches but just as important.
Thanks for the help on this, Debbie,
